How to Keep Diet Motivation

There may be some value in thinking yourself thin. At least don’t think yourself fat. I know from experience that having the right diet motivation makes a huge difference. The most positive change came when I took the time to convince myself that I deserved to be healthier and happier.
It is important to keep realistic expectations from the start. You need to realize that this is a marathon not a sprint. Being overweight and the attitude that came with it did not happen in a day. Do not think that you can wake up tomorrow and all your problems will be solved.It’s important to make positive steps everyday.

Next figure out how long it will take to lose that weight. As you set your goal date keep in mind most authorities consider 1.5 to 2.5 pounds per week to be ideal healthy weight loss. Take this into account and set weekly and or monthly goals for yourself in addition to your long term goal.
Please take note; your goals must be realistic. Setting unreachable goals is the worst thing you can do. This is perhaps the best way to completely derail your motivation to diet. Not reaching a goal on weigh in day can definitely send you on a dieting backslide. You know when those feelings start to creep back in. The ones that say “Who am I kidding I’ll never lose this weight.” The next minute your heads buried in a gallon of ice cream.
On the other hand realizing attainable goals can help to boost your confidence in a major way. These small victories will help to keep you motivated to lose weight.
Step two, Find out why you want to lose weight:
What is the main reason for you wanting to lose weight? The only person who knows the answer is you. There is a slew of reasons someone might want to lose weight. So what’s yours?
Have you had it with the taunts? I know did. Are you interested in living longer? Maybe you want to have as much time as you can with your loved ones. Do you want to be more attractive? This is another reason that motivated me to lose weight.
That was just some of my diet motivations to get your wheels turning. It’s your turn now look inside and figure out your reasoning for needing to lose weight. It is important to record even the smallest of reasons. Go back to them when you need a little inspiration or diet motivation.
